Portraits By Marilyn – Commissioned Portrait and Pet Watercolor Art

Two paintings completed during the Greg Lipelt workshop on portrait painting.  I especially like the portrait on the right.

It’s fun to capture the joy in this portrait.  What can be better than enjoying a sunny day together?  This painting captures a wonderful memory!

Here is the completed painting of a snow leopard, a magnificent animal.  I will make numbered giclee prints of this painting.  Perhaps the shop at the Como Zoo would like to sell prints of this painting.

For  2012 my goal is to sketch daily, from real life when possible, or from T.V.  I want to focus mainly on people in sports or performing music.  Here is a sketch of various hockey players I did while watching the “Wild” on T.V.  They beat Edmonton 5 to 3.

Here is a completed painting.  I like the composition and story. My goal was to paint the figures to be less recognizable, portraying people of a general age, not specific individuals.  I wanted to create a path of light through the painting, to direct your eyes, and focus more on shapes and values.
